About PaulLau.com

Welcome to PaulLau.com. What originally started in 2009 as just a bit of fun has now turned into this blog (albeit still hosted at wordpress.com) with more than a hundred views each day. It’s been a pleasure to blog and I hope you will enjoy reading it.

PaulLau.com seeks to remain as my collection of thoughts, opinions and comments on the issues of the day. I won’t stop having opinions anytime soon so one can expect the Opinion Pieces to continue being written. My interest in debating and public speaking haven’t waned either, so you can find all things debating, MUN or public speaking related under Discourse. Finally, this is also a personal blog, so you will find posts about me and my experiences in the Personal category.

Do stay in touch using the contact page.
Visit regularly and enjoy!

Cheers,
Paul Lau (Editor, Webmaster, Writer, Creator and Subject)

Sing Tao Inter-School Debating Competition 2008

Although I was born in Canada, I have lived in Hong Kong for most of my life. I currently reside in the UK where I am studying the IB Diploma. I am ethnically Chinese although legally both Chinese and Canadian. I completed my IGCSEs at South Island School in Hong Kong before moving to the UK where I attended UWC Atlantic College, completing my International Baccalaureate Diploma in 2012.

In addition to my hectic studies, I am an active participant in debating, public speaking and a variety of other extra curricular activities. I have an active interest in international affairs, from the US Presidential Elections to local Hong Kong politics and to international organizations like the United Nations. I keep a close tab on all the latest news and, in addition to just reading about issues, regularly voice my opinions. I also take part in distance running, and to a lesser extent, swimming.
