WSDC 2013 – Team Nigeria delayed [UPDATED]

[UPDATE] Team Nigeria has now arrived in Antalya in time to compete in Round 6. They will most likely complete round 8 and 9, but given the maths will not be able to break into the out-rounds.

Some of you may have noticed that Nigeria were counted as having forfeited both of their debates today against Chile and Bangladesh. This now appears to be a result of “visa difficulties” which Ade Ayeni, Director of International Programmes of Presidents Schools Debate Nigeria, indicates have “now been sorted out.” This means, with luck, Nigeria will be able to make its way to Antalya tonight and participate in the 2013 World Schools Debating Championships tomorrow as planned.
