Random Republicans

With all the work, I haven’t been able to keep up with as much news as I’d like. Obviously Rick Perry’s now infamous gaffe hasn’t gone unnoticed. It’s included below for those of you who want to be entertained.

More important that Rick Perry’s stunning demise is the oddity in which the Republican race is turning out. First it was Mitt Romney and Michele Bachmann, then it was Mitt Romney and Rick Perry, now it is Mitt Romney and Herman Cain. The latest New York Times reports seem to suggest the race is now between Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich.

Congradulations to those of you who notice a pattern – Mitt Romney.

What surprises me most is why Republicans are so desperate for a non-Mitt Romney candidate. The only explanation that comes to my mind is that he’s more moderate than the Republican base is, especially influenced massively by the Tea Party. That’s probably a bad thing for Republicans and a good thing for Democrates.
