Even the Hong Kong Parliamentary Debating Society (HKPDS) has gone wordpress, largely ditching their original website at http://hkpds.org/ and redirecting people to their new website at http://hkpds.wordpress.com/ with a message telling visitors that “http://hkpds.wordpress.com/ will be the main source of updated HKPDS information from now on. HKPDS.ORG will still be up, but not be updated as regularly”.
Now in it’s 7th edition, The Hong Kong Parliamentary Debating Society Summer Workshop has changed a lot since I first attended 2007 at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Debating – and British Parliamentary style in particular – is an activity that is of rich educational value. It promotes critical thinking, trains participants’ ability to form logical arguments, and to communicate them in a clear and persuasive manner. Debating also fosters an awareness of key international issues and events. (Please refer to more information in appendix 2)
