Sing Tao 2011: Semi-Final Results


No official results for the Semi-finals of the Sing Tao competition yet.
The semi-finals were held on the 16 April 2011 at St Joseph’s College, 7 Kennedy Road, Central.

Contest 1

South Island School (Opposition) beat Diocesan Boys’ School (Affirmative) on the motion ‘The disbursement of $6,000 via the Community Care Fund to new immigrants does more harm than good’

Tiffany Chung (South Island School) was awarded Best Speaker.

Contest 2

Chinese International School (Opposition) beat Diocesan Girls’ School (Affirmative) on the motion that ‘The government should impose a mandatory radiation test to all travelers entering Hong Kong from Japan’
Chinese International School were represented by:

  • Resa Ng
  • Lorraine Leung
  • Sarah Pemberton

Amanda Hwang (Diocesan Girls’ School) was awarded Best Speaker.

Grand Final

This means that the Grand Final of the Sing Tao Inter-School Debating Competition 2010-2011 will be between Chinese International School and defending Champions South Island School.
This will once again be held at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium on Friday, the 20th of May 2011.
