ASDC 2010 finished a while back and ASDC 2011 has yet to even begin, although registration is now under way, and groups are beginning to put together bids for the 2012 Asian Schools Debating Championships.

Sekolah Tuanku Abdul Rahman (STAR), Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia, have indicated their interest in bidding to bring ASDC 2012 to Malaysia.

The bid seems primarily led by Azrul Izzam, who himself has moved on to university, and has ammased a number of big names in Asian debating.

Malaysian Institute for Debating and Public Speaking has agreed to be the partner of the bid and help with hosting ASDC 2012.
Imran Rahmi (Singapore) has agreed to be part of the Adj Core. Imran was ranked 30 as an individual speaker at WUDC 2011 and went to the quarter-finals. Imran also won the 2010 WUPID. See profile below.
Khalidah Nazihah (Malaysia), of the International Islamic University Malaysia has agreed to be Chief Adjudicator.
Thepparith Senamngern (Thailand) has agreed to be part of the Adj Core.

Under Raffles Institution, Imran was a finalist in Hwa Chong JC Invitationals 2003, and semi-finalist in NUS Debate Invitationals 2003 and Victoria JC Debate Invitationals 2003. With Victoria Junior College, he has won Anglo-Chinese JC Debate Invitationals in 2005.

Representing NUS, Imran has won the World Universities Peace Invitational Debates 2010; SMU BP IV 2010; Asian British Parliamentary 2010 where he emerged as the Top Speaker in Asia. He has also taken part in World Universities Debate Championships (Botswana) 2011 and emerged as a quarter-finalist.

Imran has coached Raffles Institution in 2008 and brought them to the Champions at Anderson JC Mayor Invitationals. He has also taken on Methodist Girls’ School in 2008, he has also led the team to the Champions in the Victoria JC Invitationals 2008, Finalists in the MOF Budget Debates 2008, 3rd place in the Julia Gabriel Debating Championships 2009 and in 2010, Quarter Finalists in Julia Gabriel Debating Championships 2010, and Champions in the MGS U-14 Debate Championships. In 2010, he has also led Saint Andrew’s Junior College to Champions in the 2010 SMU Hammers, and Quarter- Finalists in the MIDC 2010.

Imran has adjudicated in Julia Gabriel Debating Championships 2006, Victoria JC Debate Invitationals 2005, 2006, 2007, Serangoon JC Debate Invitationals 2006, Hwa Chong JC Debate Invitationals 2006, Junior College MOE Invitationals Debating Championships 2008, NTU Pro-Ams 2010 (where he broke as the 2nd top adjudicator) and lastly, OIC Intervarsity Debating Championships 2010 (held in KL) where he was Deputy Chief Adjudicator.
